Discount Fences of West Florida, Inc. (“Discount Fences,” “we,” “us”) is a fence company based in Clearwater, Florida. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit discountfences.net, chat with us online, call, text or email us, or hire us for a job. It also explains how we use that information, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a quote, use our online estimate assistant or chat, book a site visit, call, text or email us, or hire us, we collect:

• Your name, phone number, email address and property address
• Details about your project, such as fence type, length, gates, and HOA or permit needs
• Appointment times, messages and chat conversations
• Billing and payment details for work you hire us to do

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our partners collect:

• Your IP address, browser and device type, and approximate location based on your IP address
• The pages you view, how long you stay, and the website or ad that brought you here
• Ad click identifiers, such as the code Google adds to a link when you click one of our Google ads. These tell us which ad led to your visit or request.
• Information stored in cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and the tools on our website”)

Phone calls. Our website uses a call-tracking service that shows different phone numbers depending on how you found us. When you call, it records the number you called from, the time and length of the call, and the page or ad that led to the call. Calls to our office are recorded for quality control, and you will hear a notice at the start of the call.

Online chat. Our online estimate assistant is an automated chat. It asks about your project so we can prepare an estimate, and a team member may follow up. We keep chat conversations with your request in our customer records.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Answer your questions, prepare estimates, schedule site visits and install your fence
• Send appointment reminders, project updates and invoices, and follow up on your quote
• Handle warranty and service requests
• Run and improve our website, chat and estimate tools
• Learn which ads and pages bring us customers, and show our ads to people who have visited our site (see “Ads you may see from us”)
• Review recorded calls to check quality and train our team
• Keep our website secure and prevent spam and fraud
• Meet legal, tax and permit requirements, and protect our rights

If you agree to receive them, we may also send you occasional offers or reminders. You can stop these at any time.

Cookies and the tools on our website

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. First-party cookies are set by our site, such as the Google Analytics cookie. Third-party cookies are set by other companies, such as Google’s advertising cookies. Pixels, tags and device identifiers work in similar ways.

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. If you do, some parts of our site, such as chat, may not work.

Ads you may see from us

We advertise online with Google, Microsoft, Meta and other advertising partners. These third-party vendors, including Google, show our ads on websites and apps across the internet.

These vendors use cookies and device identifiers to show you our ads based on your past visits to our website. This is called remarketing, or interest-based advertising. For example, if you looked at our fence cost page, you may later see a Discount Fences ad on another site.

We use Google Analytics Advertising Features, including remarketing with Google Analytics and Demographics and Interests reporting. With these features, we and Google use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as Google advertising cookies) together to:

• Show our ads based on your past visits to our website
• Measure how the ads you see relate to visits to our website
• Report the general age ranges, genders and interests of our visitors. These reports are totals; they don’t identify you.

We and these partners use information collected on our website to measure and deliver ads. Those partners may also use it as described in their own privacy policies, linked in the table above.

Your choices and how to opt out

You can turn off personalized ads and limit tracking in these places:

• Google: turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ads Settings. To stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits to any website, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Microsoft: use Microsoft’s personalized ad settings.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram): change your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
• Many ad companies at once: use the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out tools or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.
• Phones and tablets: use your device’s settings to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising ID.
• Cookies: use your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

Opting out does not stop all ads. You may still see our ads, but they won’t be based on your visits to our site. Opt-outs work per browser and device, and clearing your cookies can undo some of them.

Our website does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

Texts and emails. Reply STOP to any text from us to stop texts. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or call us and we’ll take you off our list.

How we share information

We share information only in these ways:

• Service providers who run parts of our business for us: website hosting, our customer records system, chat and estimate tools, phone and call tracking, texting, email, scheduling, payments and accounting. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
• Advertising and analytics partners, through the cookies and tools on our website described above.
• People who help complete your job, such as installers, material suppliers, and permit offices or HOAs, only as needed for your project.
• Legal and safety reasons: to comply with the law or a legal request, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our team, the public or Discount Fences.
• If our business changes hands: if we sell or merge our business, customer records may transfer to the new owner, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Text messages (SMS)

If you agree to receive text messages from us, we use your mobile number to text you about your quote, appointments and project. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help.

We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

How long we keep information

We keep information as long as we need it to serve you, honor our warranties, keep business, tax and legal records, and resolve disputes. After that, we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.

How we protect information

We use reasonable safeguards and limit access to the people and service providers who need it. No website, internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we have about you. Contact us using the details below. We will confirm who you are before we act, and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. We may need to keep some information to finish open work, honor a warranty, or meet legal and tax requirements.

Where information is stored

We are a Florida business. Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Children

Our website and services are not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as social media and review sites. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will also post a notice on our website.
